About the ACMA Charitable Trust

There are six current Trustees appointed by the President of ACMA acting on a majority resolution of the ACMA Executive Committee. These are honorary appointments for a term of 5 years. The Trustees are required to fulfil their obligations faithfully and diligently as laid down in the Trust Deed of the ACMA Charitable Trust.

Honorary Chair

Mrs Catherine Lam

B.Soc Sc, MA, LLB, Dip.Legal Practice

Cathy is involved with ACMA activities through her husband Professor Albert Lam, and is often sighted as a regular at the table at ACMA’s monthly meetings.

Cathy was admitted to legal practice and worked in the Federal Public Service for many years, principally as a senior manager and ultimately, Regional Director of the Dept of Immigration. She assisted in setting up the Refugee Review Tribunal, was a Director of Court Services at the Federal Court of Australia and Deputy Registry Manager at the Family Court of Australia. Now retired, Cathy is a passionate frequent traveller and doting “glam-ma” of baby Angeline, her first grandchild.

Cathy and fellow trustees are humbled by the demonstration of selfless devotion and achievements of all the past trustees since the Trust’s inception in 1992. The team hopes to establish a regular income stream for the ACMA Charitable Trust, and to continue with the good work and good example set before them.
